trans.modelab.top is a translation and lightweight learning tool designed for Japanese learners, integrating real-time translation, situational dialogue practice, and personal vocabulary lists all in one.
It supports instant cross-translation among Chinese, English, and Japanese, with furigana provided for Japanese results. When you see a word you want to remember, just highlight it to save it to your vocabulary list, where the AI can automatically generate its pronunciation, meaning, and example sentences. When you want to put your newly learned words to use, switch to the practice tab. The AI will roleplay a specific scenario to chat with you via text—it will correct any mistakes in your expression first before moving the conversation forward.
The AI capabilities are powered by Gemini. You’ll need to provide your own API Key to use it. Your key is only stored in your device’s local cache and never passes through our servers. All AI requests are securely communicated directly between your device and Google. If you want to verify this yourself, just open your browser’s developer tools and check the network panel; you’ll see the request destination is Google’s servers, not this site.
This is my personal, non-profit VibeCoding research project and will not be commercialized. I built it purely to scratch my own itch, figuring there has to be someone else out there who needs exactly this.
